There is this little tale that I’m not proud of but which I would like to share anyway because it embodies the wisdom of what the Lord would like me to share with you. It is that in China, on one fateful day, my fiancé then, (now my husband) decided after one of his many “moot court rehearsals” (he was studying law) to visit me at all cost. Truth be told their rehearsal for the law school competition had taken so much of his time that we had not gotten the chance to see each other for a while so instead of insisting that he stayed in his school (which was some hours from my place by bus), I thought to myself he could be here and back in no time so there was no cause for worry.   In the cool wind of a quiet friday afternoon, as I packed in readiness to travel to China, I felt a chill of uncertainty in my spine. Right from home I was pensive. As I sat waiting to board the bus I tried to chat with my mum and act brave. My mum had seen me off to the bus station in my small town in Ghana where my family lives. At the station, as she is so used to doing, she bolted off right before my eyes in haste. I looked on curiously to see what she was about.   I remember when we were little, my dad did all he could to help me and my brother break free of the  phobia of water and swimming because we seemed to not have much motivation to swim without apprehension or at least to learn to swim without anxiety. Personally I always drank some sea water even before I tried and sometimes just the thought of not knowing how strong the next wave was was threatening to me. Friends we often hear the discourse that our God, the most High God, the King of Kings He saves, He reigns and He repays and so on. All these are true attributes of our God. Yes, o ur God reigns, our God saves but perhaps we have not thought much about the fact that our God Slays !  God has a  plan to save, yes,  but He also has a plan to SLAY ! How do you define good and evil? You take a minute to answer. Is good what feels right ? What about evil? Is evil what hurts you? What if it does not hurt you but hurts another? Is evil what hurts others even if it does not hurt you ? What if it does not 'hurt' anybody in anyway? What if someone decided to do something 'awful' in the streets that literally 'hurt nobody', would that be termed evil in anyway? What is 'evil' in your view? It seems 'Good' has much more definitions these days than 'evil'. So how do we know what 'evil' is since everything seems 'good' or 'fine' or 'up to you' in our time and no body really finds anything 'evil' anymore. Has 'evil' simply ceased to exist?
