Help me define EVIL.

Image
How do you define good and evil? You take a minute to answer. Is good what feels right ? What about evil? Is evil what hurts you? What if it does not hurt you but hurts another? Is evil what hurts others even if it does not hurt you ? What if it does not 'hurt' anybody in anyway? What if someone decided to do something 'awful' in the streets that literally 'hurt nobody', would that be termed evil in anyway? What is 'evil' in your view? It seems 'Good' has much more definitions these days than 'evil'. So how do we know what 'evil' is since everything seems 'good' or 'fine' or 'up to you' in our time and no body really finds anything 'evil' anymore. Has 'evil' simply ceased to exist? Well 'evil' does not have a clear cut definition if defined outside of God's nature: His ways, His purpose and His goodness.  If evil is defined in reference to God's principles, His likes and d...

Are You A 'Spiritual Refugee' ?

Image
Recently, the Lord began to speak to me about the term 'spiritual refugee', so i checked the meaning of refugee which was given as a displaced person who has been forced to cross national boundaries and who cannot return home safely . Such a person may be called an asylum seeker until granted refugee status. And the Lord said there are so many 'Spiritual Refugees' in our day: people who have crossed or are crossing 'national boundaries' consciously or unconsciously, in the spirit. These people at some point in their lives accepted Christ and became citizens of the commonwealth of heaven, believers in God who agreed to put their faith in Christ Jesus at a point in their lives . Many even became ardent followers of Christ but due to tests and trials in their faith, they have gradually abandoned the 'spiritual Kingdom' and are seeking asylum in other things, and other places: asylum in cynicism, in intellectualism, in the world's notion of success a...

You cannot be hidden !

2 Kings 7:3-5   (KJV) 3  And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die? 4  If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die. 5  And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there. This conversation of the lepers is the debate and the dilemma most of us have when it is time to take a decision concerning God's word, or when it comes to answering God's call on our lives. We ask, 'shall we advance and do this?' or 'should we wait and see', and then we realize if we sit where we are, we die and if we go forward, it looks like we die too. ...

Following The Light ... Or Just in traffic?

Image
John 8:12   12  Again Jesus spoke to them, saying,  “I am the light of the world. Whoever  follows me will not  walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” There is no doubt in the statement here that Jesus the Son of God is equivalent to LIGHT in the world and in our lives. The emphatic statement that 'whoever FOLLOWS the Lord will NEVER walk in darkness, but will have the LIGHT of life' is key to note. You see, you can go to church on Sunday and not necessarily be FOLLOWING Jesus. You can say and write christian statements or make christian sounding proclamations and yet not be FOLLOWING JESUS.  This is because 'following' comes after a decision, and is personal , intentional , as well as progressive .   When cars move behind each other in traffic, they are not necessarily FOLLOWING each other. WHY? because none of the drivers in traffic DECIDED from home to follow car number so and so or truck number so and so. They are...
